Due to the new combined device access (CDA) technology, both drives can access the same USB reproduction medium simultaneously. Thus, e.g. pre-fader listening to the tracks is possible during the current reproduction without having to stop the PA application in the function room. In addition, a second USB storage medium can be connected for common use or for split operation (each drive uses its own medium).

This makes it ideal for DJ'ing without the need to ever touch a CD. Of course the CD 292 USB also sticks with the tried and tested CD technology sporting a dual CD tray, housed within a 19" 2U rack. The accompanying DJ controller also housed within a 19" 2U rack can be fitted into a dedicated DJ case or on a standard rackmount unit.
